Fourth Review: Iron Man Movie Series Mark V (Suitcase)

Hello! I thought I'd continue with my Iron Man 2 3 3/4" figure reviews and take a look at the Mark V Suitcase Armor. For a brief history of the armor, this is the armor that Tony Stark built in the Iron Man 2 2010 movie so he would have easy access to a suit anywhere he is. Because the suit is so portable, it lacks protection like the other suits, but is very impressive nonetheless.

For color, the suit takes the basic 'Silver Centurion' color scheme with the red and silver. Personally, I like this color scheme better than the red and gold but I still like the standard Iron Man colors as well. The details are spectacular! The silver panels lining the ENTIRE suit is just awesome and I do enjoy the amount of silver details against the dark, glossy red. Very impressive look-wise, but looks is where the goodness ends...

Articulation is the same as all other figures, which I hope you guys are familiar with, but if not...

- neck (ball joint)

- shoulders (360 rotation/in-and-out)

- elbows (360 rotation/bend 90 degrees)

- wrist (360 rotation)

- upper torso (ball joint)

- hips (forwards-and-backwards/in-and-out)

- upper thigh (360 rotation)

- knee (double-jointed)

- ankle (forward-and-back)

The articulation for these figures are awesome, and you'd believe that since the suit doesn't have shoulder armor and is much lighter weight than other armors, the articulation would be amazing, right? WRONG. The arms can barely go away from the body, not even 30 degrees! And the head can't even go up an down, just rotate 360 degrees... the articulation is a little irritating on this figure.

The accessories for this figure are the same as for other figures, a base, 3 Armor Cards, and this figure comes with a suitcase that can fire 2 missiles and open on one side, revealing details inside the suitcase. He also comes with an extra hand to hold the suitcase. All you have to do is pull off the left hand, plug in the extra hand, and then put the suitcase in the hand. Pretty simple, but I'd rather not...

Overall, I'd give this figure a 3/5... Reason being is because the detail and overall appearance is very nice and crisp, but articulation is VERY disappointing and I'd prefer it to be a bit better. Would I get it? Sure. Would I recommend it? Nope, but if your a collector like me, it's a nice figure to have.

Third Review: Iron Man Movie Series Mark II

Hey everyone! For my third review, I will take a look at one of my favorite Iron Man figures from the 3 3/4" Movie Series Action Figures: The Mark II!! Man oh man, I got to say that the Mark II is a wonderfully detailed figure. From the ARC Reactor, to the good articulation, and the gleaming silver armor, it is AMAZING! For a brief history, the Mark II was the second suit Tony Stark built in the Iron Man 2008 film. Very fast and very powerful, the only issue the armor had was the icing problem at high altitudes.

The color for this armor is pretty simple: BRIGHT silver. The entire armor is silver except for the ARC Reactor, repulsors, and eyes. They are light blue that fade to white toward the center. A very pretty suit of armor if you ask me. The details are very good, the lines painted with thin black lines to show off the individual armor plates, and personally, my favorite detail is the "rivets" put around the front torso for detail. For colors/details I'd give this figure a 5/5.

Now for articulation, the figure has the best articulation out of all the Iron Man figures I have. If your just now catching my reviews, the articulation is as follows...

- elbows (360 rotation/bend 90 degrees)

- wrist (360 rotation)

- upper torso (ball joint)

- hips (forwards-and-backwards/in-and-out)

So it's pretty good articulation if you ask me. One thing that makes me especially happy is -- with help from versusZ -- my Mark II's legs can go front and back instead of just in and out. Thanks, Z! XD

The accessories are, as you know, the same as any other Iron Man figure. It comes with a base, 3 Armor Cards, and a missile launcher with a BLUE missile, which I thought was pretty cool. His missile Launcher looks exactly the same as the Mark VI's but is instead all in silver. Overall, I would recommend the Mark II over the majority of the Figures, other than War Machine!

Overall, the Mark II is a fantastic figure and I would highly recommend it because of it's simple, elegant look. I do think It's funny that this figure is from the first Iron Man movie and he was released in an Iron Man 2 line... but I guess you can't do anything about it, nor do I really want to! I LOVE THIS FIGURE! If you find it, pick it up with War Machine and any other figure you want, but this one is a must have! Two thumbs WAY up! Second Review: Iron Man Movie Series War Machine

Hey guys! I hope you're here to read my next review of the Iron Man 2 Action Figure series of 3 3/4" figures. I just got the figure and I gotta say, I am VERY happy I found it! Otherwise I would've had to spend $14 for it online instead of just $7. A brief history of War Machine before the review: The War Machine armor is worn my James 'Rhoddy' Rhodes, and usually fills in when Tony Stark couldn't appear as Iron Man. Where Iron Man has more sophisticated and advanced weaponry, War Machine has immense firepower with multiple vulcan cannons and missiles.

Now about the figure itself, I'll cover colors and paint mishaps. First off, the War Machine I picked up was the only one they had in stock from the movie series, so I couldn't be too picky! The main color is a dark slightly metallic gunmetal silver, and the secondary color is a brighter metallic silver. And his ARC Reactor, Repulsors, and eyes are red instead of blue. The biggest problem with this figure is that on his left knee there are silver lines that run onto the kneecap (see top photo), the ARC Reactor has red paint that ran onto the gunmetal silver color (not too noticeable), and the silver plate on his right thigh seem like it wasn't painted thoroughly. But I think I could fix it with some custom paint work, so no biggie! XD

The articulation is almost the exact same as the Mark VI armor, with a few differences. If you missed the first review of articulation, here it is...

the main difference is there are large shoulder-plates attached to the torso over the shoulders that are on a hinge joint. Other than that, the articulation is pretty much the same! I don't think I got a figure with bad articulation... but the only thing he can't do is move his legs forwards and backwards, but it doesn't bother me that much.

Just like every other Iron Man 2 figure, you get a base, 3 Armor Cards, a small gatling gun with a flexible belt feed, and a Missile Launcher (which takes shape of a giant gatling gun with 2 missiles). I like his missile launcher better because it actually looks good on War Machine, where with the other figures they look a bit awkward and out of place. The Armor Cards are once again, a nice little accessory to add to the collection, but I don't put my cards on the bases.

Well, there is War Machine for you! I love this figure I think even more than the Mark VI, but that's just because War Machine kicks A**!!! I think one of the only reasons I want to see Iron Man 2 is because War Machine decides to take some of the lime light. But this figure is slowly starting to become rare so if you are interested in these 3 3/4" figures, I'd pick him up as quickly as possible if you find 'em!

First Review: Iron Man Movie Series Mark VI Armor

Hey guys, this is my first review of a 3 3/4" Iron Man 2 Action Figure. This figure in particular is the Movie Series Mark VI Armor that is the basis of the Iron Man 2 movie being released on May 7th.

To start this review, I'll first cover color and detail... First off, the details on this figure are AMAZING! The lines on the armor are fantastic and really give off a sense of realism and detail. I'm a big fan of the sculpt of the armor. The ARC Reactor on the torso, however, I think I like the circular look rather than the triangular look. And I also gotta say that the Repulsors in the palm of the hands are very nice because of the two-tone colors instead of just a regular blue color. Now, the colors I am a definite fan of. The deep red and metallic gold are awesome; but I think what makes this look so awesome is the gloss sheen on the red armor. A little bad sign with these figures is watch for paint mishaps. Two other figures I own have a few bad spots on paint app, which I'll review on a later date.

Another thing I'll cover is articulation. (WHEW!), articulation can be a doozy on these figures. Not one Mark VI has the same articulation as another Mark VI, and because of this, it kind of sucks if you get a figure with bad articulation. The figure I picked luckily has very good articulation, so BOOYAH! (ahem..), but there is articulation is what follows:

- hips (forwards-and-backwards/in-and-out)

Pretty decent articulation for a 3 3/4" figure if you ask me! But as I said, some of the joints on these figures can be EXTREMELY tight and fear of breaking is a given when you buy one of these. My only complaint with my Mark VI is that the double-jointed knees seem a bit weaker than my other figures and he tends to lean right or left (depending on weight distribution).

Now for accessories, you get a base, 3 armor cards (featured above), and a point-and-shoot missile launcher that attaches to his arm. The base has a single peg and on the bottom of each foot is a hole that you can pose your figure in a basic stance or in an awesome action pose. There is also a slot on the base to place the 3 armor cards or, you can leave them off entirely and just put them in card sleeves like I did.

The armor cards serve a purpose, but I'm not sure which. I went the the website written on the side of the cards but it redirected me to the Marvel website instead. If anyone knows, please let me know?
